Walk into any well-equipped school, and you'll find desks, chairs, and organized learning stations. Walk into our IDP camp school, and you'll find something different — children sitting on the bare floor, notebooks balanced on their knees, writing as best they can.
They don't complain. They show up, sit down, and learn. But we know they deserve better.
It might seem like a small thing — a desk, a chair. But for a displaced child, sitting at a proper desk sends a powerful message: "You matter. Your education matters. You are worth investing in."
Proper seats and desks also have practical benefits:
We need 200 desks and chairs to furnish our existing classrooms and the 4 new ones we plan to build. Each desk-and-chair set costs approximately ₦15,000 (about $10). That's ₦3,000,000 to transform the learning environment for 400 children.
A desk is more than furniture — it's a statement. It says to a displaced child: "Your education is real. Your future is worth building." Help us get our children off the floor and into seats where they can learn with dignity.
