Betharbel Recycling is our innovative social enterprise that combines environmental stewardship with economic empowerment. We train displaced youth and women in waste collection, sorting, processing, and upcycling — turning what others discard into products with value and purpose.
The IDP camp generates significant waste with no formal disposal system. Rather than seeing this as a problem, we saw an opportunity — an opportunity to clean the environment, create jobs, and teach valuable skills that participants can use long after they leave the camp.
Recycling isn't just about saving the planet — it's about saving livelihoods. For displaced women and youth with limited employment options, eco-skills provide a path to income, independence, and dignity. Every bottle recycled is a step toward sustainability; every product sold is proof that displacement doesn't define destiny.
We aim to train 100 women and youth in the first year, establish a self-sustaining recycling hub, and process over 5 tons of waste monthly. Your support helps us purchase equipment, build processing space, and provide training stipends.
